This vote was to determine the relative allocation of $100,000 between the eight identified spending priority areas as resolved through the 2nd customer member budget workshop. Those priority areas were First Nations solidarity, international solidarity, social solidarity & justice, investing in just transitions, supporting organising and resistance, economic democracy/community ownership and ecological regeneration.
We received a total of 342 votes prior to the close of voting at 11:59pm on Tuesday 10th May. Of those ballots, once double votes, and email addresses that didn’t directly correlate to customer members had been taken into account, there was a total of 325 valid votes.
Rounded to the nearest 100, the proportional allocation based on the votes of customer members is as follows:
On Tuesday 17th May we are due to open up submissions from customer members and the wider community for specific spending proposals that meet one or more of the above priority areas. This means that the amounts listed above represent the effective minimum spend in each priority area as it’s entirely possible that we will get proposals that meet more than one priority area.
